South Auckland to Epsom Girls School Bus

Formal Registration for Our Free Two-Week Trial

Kiwi Coaches is launching a dedicated South Auckland student bus service to Epsom Girls Grammar School.

Following a strong response from South Auckland families, the proposed service will operate free of charge during the final two weeks of Term 3. This trial will allow students and families to experience the service while Kiwi Coaches confirms passenger numbers, travel times, permanent pickup locations and the most sustainable long-term fare.

Formal registration is required for every student who wishes to travel during the trial.

Proposed Trial Dates

The free trial is planned to operate from:

Monday 14 September to Friday 25 September 2026

The service will operate on normal EGGS school days during this period.

There is no charge for students registered for the trial.

Proposed South Auckland Route

The proposed limited-stop route will travel from South Auckland directly to Epsom Girls Grammar School.

Planned pickup areas include:

  • Drury Station

  • Papakura

  • The Gardens

  • Manukau Bus Station

  • Māngere Bridge

  • One additional South-Central Auckland stop, subject to registrations

  • Epsom Girls Grammar School

Final pickup locations and departure times will be provided directly to registered families before the trial begins.

The route may be adjusted slightly to provide the best balance between accessibility, passenger demand and reliable arrival at school.

A Direct, Student-Focused Service

The service is being designed to provide South Auckland students with a simpler and more dependable journey to school.

Students will benefit from:

  • Direct travel to Epsom Girls Grammar School

  • A registered place on the trial service

  • Limited, clearly identified pickup points

  • Professional, P-endorsed Kiwi Coaches drivers

  • Professionally maintained vehicles

  • Parent and caregiver communication

  • Passenger attendance records

  • Backup operational support from an established Auckland bus operator

  • No requirement to transfer between local buses and trains

Kiwi Coaches has been moving Auckland students for more than 30 years and operates daily school services throughout the region.

What Happens After the Free Trial?

Registration for the free trial does not require your family to purchase future travel.

At the end of the two-week trial, Kiwi Coaches will review:

  • The number of students using the service

  • Actual morning and afternoon travel times

  • Demand at each pickup point

  • Vehicle and operating requirements

  • Feedback from students and families

  • The level of commitment for Term 4 and 2027

Families will then receive the confirmed route, timetable and fare before deciding whether they wish to continue.

Term 4, 2026

If the trial is successful, the service is intended to continue during Term 4 using a concession-ticket system.

This will provide families with some flexibility while the permanent service becomes established.

From 2027

Subject to sufficient ongoing demand, the service is intended to move to a term-pass model from the beginning of the 2027 school year.

The final price cannot be confirmed until the trial has established how many students will use the service and the actual operating requirements. A well-supported route will allow the operating cost to be shared across more families.

No family will be committed to paid travel until the fare has been announced and they have actively chosen to continue.
